Measure the waist position where the shorts sit and the fullest hips. Compare the inside leg from crotch seam to hem, along with the thigh opening, to a comfortable pair. Check the waist and thigh opening while seated as well as standing; inside-leg length is measured along the seam, not down the outside of the leg.
